Sujit Choudhry Active Supporter and Authority on Comparative Law

One of the biggest names in the field of law and constitutional reforms is that of Sujit Choudhry, an internationally acclaimed authority on comparative law. Sujit Choudhry has been working on propagating the fundamentals of comparative law for last many years and has even co-founded, Center for Constitutional Reforms to generate, mobilize, and discuss various aspects of comparative law in a formative manner. For any country to be stable and progressive, its constitution needs to be updated with time and its political and social structure should be strong. One of the countries that have been facing a lot of internationally driven as well as home grew crisis for a long time due to weak policies and government is Ukraine. The country has been under a lot of pressure from the international community to change the way it functions and bring some necessary changes in its political structure to stabilize the unrest in the country.

Sujit Choudhry attended the conference that was held in Kiev recently and was organized by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance and Center of Policy and Legal Reforms. Sujit Choudhry believes that it is essential for the country to have a fair and transparent electoral system, which is presently lacking in Ukraine. Sujit Choudhry mentioned the fact that the semi-presidential system that Ukraine follows can also be blamed for the indecisiveness of the government and why it has not been able to formulate or implement any high political or democratic measures for so long.
